There are plenty of ways to give back in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. This Jan. 15, visit one of these South Jersey institutions to put in a “day on.”

 

Boys and Girls Club of Camden County

Join Jersey Cares to paint window murals, clean and organize rooms and decorate bulletin boards at the Boys and Girls Club of Camden County. Volunteering runs from 9 am to noon, and participants must be 18 years and older. For more information and to sign up, visit the website.

 

Rutgers University–Camden

Buses depart Rutgers–Camden’s campus at 9 am for a variety of projects around Camden City. Sites include Bancroft, the Cooper-Grant Neighborhood Association, UrbanPromise and many more. Projects are open to all guests. Check-in and breakfast begin at 8 am, and buses will return to campus at 12:30 pm. For more information and to sign-up, visit the website.

 

Stockton University

Students, faculty and community members are invited to partake in a day of service kicking off at Stockton University. Programs include beach clean-up, clothing distribution and food kit assembly, among other opportunities. Registration and service project selection begin at 8 am, and projects begin at 9:30 am. Gloucester Township

Charles W. Lewis Middle School

Choose from a number of service projects happening all over Gloucester County, from making PB&J sandwiches to distributing hats and gloves. The day begins with registration and a continental breakfast at 8:30 am, followed by the various service projects at 10 am. For a full list of projects, visit the website.

 

Croft Farm

Spend the day cleaning the trail at Croft Farm and sorting donated items. Trail clean-up runs from 9 am to noon, and sorting runs from 10 to 11:30 am. You can also organize your own collection and drop items off at the farm by Jan. 15. For more information, visit the website.

 

Howard S. Stainton Senior Center

17th Street and Simpson Avenue, Ocean City
