A South Jersey Native Heads to the Phillies

Tyler Phillips signed his first MLB contract in 2015

Get ready to buy a new Phillies jersey – the team recently added Lumberton-native pitcher Tyler Phillips to their roster. The 23-year-old Bishop Eustace Preparatory School grad was drafted in 2015 by the Texas Rangers. He joins the Phillies bullpen on waivers from the Rangers to fill one of the spots left open by players on the Covid-related injury list.

He’s yet to make his big-league debut, but we’re hoping that when he does, it’ll be close to home.
