RC Staab

Forget a leisurely walk on the beach. This summer, a Jersey Shore enthusiast set off to do what (he thinks) no one has ever done before – walk the entire 139 miles of the Jersey Shore coastline.

In April, R.C. Staab set out from Sandy Hook to make his way toward Cape May, where he ended his walk last month. He didn’t always walk on consecutive days – many times he stayed in local hotels or called a ride back to his car at the end of the day, but he always picked up right where he left off. He brought people with him along the way, writing about his adventures on jerseyshorewalk.com, sharing his experiences and tips like where to find a shower (at the end of the Brigantine boardwalk at 9th St. North) and opinions, like how Long Beach Island is actually at least 21 miles, not 18 (as long as you’re counting coastline miles, not driving miles).
