south jersey magazine bookOn October 1, downtown Collingswood will be filled with South Jersey storytellers, booksellers, poetry readings, workshops, kid-friendly activities, entertainment and authors/speakers – including SJ Mag columnists Marianne AleardiMaury Z. Levy and Sally Friedman.

The writers will be on hand to talk about their book “Worth Repeating,” which compiles the very best of their work over the years, plus their bonus commentary. Marianne, Maury and Sally will be taking questions from the audience and talking about their favorite columns and the responses (the good, bad and sometimes odd!) they’ve received from readers. Copies of “Worth Repeating,” will also be available for purchase.

During the week leading up to the main event on Oct. 1, you can also participate in some fun book festival activities, like a crossword puzzle tournament on Saturday, Sept. 24 from 1 to 4 pm at The Collingswood Community Center. (You’ll be solving unpublished puzzles provided by Will Shortz, The New York Times crossword puzzle editor.) On Monday, Sept. 26, join the town-wide book discussion at 7 pm at the Collingswood Library. The book open for discussions is “When Books Went to War” by Molly Nuptial Manning. Manning will speak at the Book Festival on Oct. 1 at 1 pm at the library – right after Marianne, Maury and Sally.
