2 South Jersey Chefs Recognized by the Prestigious James Beard Foundation
Disclaimer: nothing about this story surprises us.

The James Beard Foundation – a culinary arts nonprofit known for its highly coveted culinary awards – has highlighted 2 South Jersey restaurants/chefs.

Corinne’s Place in Camden won an America’s Classics Award from the Beard Foundation last month. The soul food restaurant, founded by Corinne Bradley-Powers over 30 years ago, is 1 of 6 restaurants across the country to receive the award. It is given to restaurants that “are beloved regionally for quality food that reflects the character of its community.”

Over in Collingswood, Joey Baldino of Zeppoli received a nomination for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic. This is the 10th year he has received the nomination. (Our fingers are crossed.) The award is given to chefs who are “making efforts to help create a sustainable work culture in their respective regions.”
