The Best Cheesesteak in the World is in SJ – According to TV

The battle for the best cheesesteak ever was settled with a trip to South Jersey during a recent episode of the hit ABC sitcom “The Goldbergs.”

Camden’s Donkey’s Place earned screen time during an episode titled “Adam Spielberg” thanks to a father, grandfather and son debate about which establishment sells the best cheesesteak.

Barry, the hot-tempered middle child of the Goldberg clan, shocks his family when he claims the best cheesesteak in the world is made in New Jersey. He tells the story of finding the delicious sandwich served on a poppyseed kaiser roll at Donkey’s Place while going to watch the Philadelphia Flyers take on the New Jersey Devils.

While the episode wasn’t filmed in Camden, it features a re-creation of the shop and an actor portraying real-life owner Rob Lucas Jr.
