8 Ways to Have a Fun Winter Break in South Jersey

Don’t let boredom get the best of your winter break – check out these South Jersey spots and events to keep the fun going all winter long!

Break with Katz JCC

Dec. 26-29
Katz JCC
Fill your days with everything from trampolines to ice skating with Katz JCC’s Winter Break Vacation Days. The trips run from 10 am to 4 pm each day and are open to children between the ages of 5 and 12. Cost is $65 per day for JCC members or $75 per day for guests. For the full schedule and more information, visit the website.

Learn Something New

Just because school’s out doesn’t mean the learning has to stop. From art class to swim lessons, keep the fun going with these mommy (or daddy) and me classes.

Visit the Animals

Cape May County Park & Zoo
707 Route 9 North, Cape May Court House
Bundle up to get up close with the animals at the Cape May County Park & Zoo. Kids ages 5 to 9 can attend the zoo’s three-day winter zoo camp Dec. 27-29, where they’ll experience up-close encounters, hands-on activities and fun games. Or, stop by on your own to get a look at lions, tigers and lots of other animals, without the summer crowds. For more information, visit the website.

Check Your Local Library

Libraries all around South Jersey put on programs every day to keep your little ones entertained. Whether it’s story time or a craft hour (sometimes characters visit too!), there’s something for the whole family at your local library. The Cherry Hill library will have a free toddler dance party on Dec. 29, and Burlington County Library branches are hosting winter break events like marshmallow snowman crafting, a holiday LEGO challenge and DIY teen crafts throughout the county.

Take Flight (or At Least Learn About It)

Millville Army Airfield Museum
1 Leddon Street, Millville
After the Millville Airport served as a defense airport to the U.S. military, it was returned to the state and now serves as an educational destination. Kids can learn all about military aviation, from code messengers to female pilots. For more information, visit the website.

Play with Fido for the Day

South Jersey has plenty of dog parks to explore with your four-legged friends. Take the kids and your pup to one of these parks for a day of outdoor fun.

Hear a Story

Dec. 23
1501 Glasstown Road, Millville
The whole family can enjoy a morning story on the front porch of the Museum of American Glass at WheatonArts. This Saturday’s story is Louise Loves Art and will begin at 10:30 am. Families are encouraged to bring picnic blankets. For more information, visit the website.

Experience the Great Outdoors
