7 Ways to Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday

You can celebrate everything about your favorite rhyming author during Read Across America week. March 2 marks Dr. Seuss’ 113th birthday, and these South Jersey events will get you in the Seussical spirit.


Dr. Seuss Week at The Pop Shop

1 South Main Street, Medford
729 Haddon Avenue, Collingswood
A full week of Seussical celebration includes daily story times, a special green eggs and ham breakfast, visits from your favorite characters, and more themed activities. Check the website for schedule details.


Gloucester County Library System

Locations Vary
Libraries around Gloucester County will host a variety of activities for kids of all ages during Read Across America Week. See a family show, enjoy refreshments and hear your favorite children’s stories all week long. Find times, locations and details on the website.


Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey

550 Mickle Boulevard, Camden
You can show your Dr. Seuss love with a pair of “Show Your Stripes” socks from the Ronald McDonald House of Southern New Jersey. Each pair costs $10 and provides support to Ronald McDonald House residents.


Family Success Center of Vineland

1038 East Chestnut Avenue, Suite 235, Vineland
Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 113th birthday with cupcakes and candy at the Family Success Center of Vineland. The party will be held from 10 am to 1 pm and 4 to 6 pm. Call 856-507-7840 to RSVP.


Pinelands Library

39 Allen Avenue, Medford
Kids 3 to 6 years old can enjoy some of Seuss’ stories and then complete a creative activity to celebrate his birthday. The event starts at 4 pm, and registration is required.


Gloucester Township Library

15 South Black Horse Pike, Blackwood
Your little one will be in the Seussical spirit during this celebration featuring stories, snacks, giveaways and a craft. The event for kids ages 3 to 8 runs from 4 to 5 pm in the Gloucester Township Meeting Room.


South County Library

35 Cooper Folly Road, Atco
All week long, the South County Library will offer crafts and games for Dr. Seuss’ birthday. Kids ages 3 and up can drop in any time for the festivities.
