“I loved being in New York City, because the level of competition is high and it’s good to be around that. You see work being done at the highest levels, and it makes you better at what you do,” says Sadiq, a South Jersey native. “It’s a very cosmetically driven environment when it comes to dentistry, and I really wanted to bring that Manhattan celebrity-level type of care to this area.”

At Pleasant Valley Family Dentistry in Mount Laurel, Sadiq specializes in aesthetic and cosmetic dental procedures, including veneers. He offers his patients the chance to see what their veneers will look like before actually applying them, by working with a world-class lab to create mock-ups.

“I use the same lab as some of the most well-known cosmetic dentists in New York,” Sadiq says. “It’s a very privatized, individualized process. It’s very tailored to the patient. We can give them a mock-up of what the veneers will look like before we even begin prepping the teeth.”

In addition to providing his patients with peace of mind, Sadiq says his process for creating veneers ensures a natural fit and a perfect finished product.

“The approach we go by is something called facial aesthetics,” Sadiq says. “We want to recreate nature. The whole purpose is your veneers are supposed to blend in. When you smile, it should be very natural, so no one says, ‘Oh, that person has veneers.’ They won’t even be able to pinpoint that the teeth are veneers. We pay a little more for the lab we use, but in the long run I think it’s worth it. I have no problem spending a little more of my overhead to ensure my patients are going to be extremely happy.”

Sadiq says he and his team at Pleasant Valley Family Dentistry go above and beyond to offer the highest quality care possible to each patient, whether they need a routine cleaning or require a more involved procedure.

“My standard is that if I’m delivering any type of treatment, it’s going to be at the highest level possible,” Sadiq says. “That’s the way I would want to be treated, and I try to keep that same motto in my practice.”

No matter what type of services needed, Sadiq’s patients are typically able to receive them right there in the Mount Laurel offices. Pleasant Valley Family Dentistry offers root canals and wisdom tooth extraction, in addition to other surgical procedures.

“I’ve always gone the extra mile to learn and perfect those difficult procedures,” Sadiq says. “I do a lot of wisdom teeth removal myself, and I just purchased a surgical microscope for root canals – that’s the way an endodontist performs a root canal, and I believe it should be done that way. Being able to offer those procedures means less stress for my patients and sometimes a cost savings; they don’t have to see a costly specialist, and they’re able to have the work done here, where they feel comfortable.”

Much of that comfort, Sadiq says, comes from the trust his patients have in him – a trust that he works hard to build.

“You’re dealing with patients who don’t know a whole lot about what you’re doing, and for them it is all about trust,” he says. “When you find somebody you trust, you’ll hold on to that person for dear life.”

Sadiq’s patients certainly do. He practices alongside his father, who has now treated several generations of patients.

“As my partner in the practice, his experience has really helped to mold me and taught me a lot, especially when it comes to diagnostics and treatment planning,” says Sadiq. “We have patients who have been in the practice for years and years. It’s nice to see a patient whose family we’ve been treating since before I was born. Those long-standing relationships really speak volumes about the way our patients feel about the treatment they’re receiving from us. It really is the best of both worlds: my father’s years of experience paired with my new and continuing education.”

The educational aspect of his field is deeply important to Sadiq. He is dedicated to continuing education and seizes every opportunity to expand his areas of expertise.

“The learning never stops,” Sadiq says. “We do a lot of continuing education, and I absolutely feel that’s one of the most important things you can do, both for yourself and for your patients. It’s a field that is continually changing, and you have to keep up-to-date. At the end of the day we’re trying to provide our patients with the best care possible, and the only way to do that is to learn.”

Sadiq plans to take a course in IV sedation, which would allow him to offer patients undergoing surgical procedures alternatives to conscious sedation. In September, he will begin a two-year surgical fellowship for implants at NYU. While the fellowship will require him to travel to New York each week, he says his primary focus will remain on his patients and his Mount Laurel practice.

“I was born and raised in Moorestown and went through the Moorestown school system,” he says. “I was born and raised in South Jersey. I’ve always loved the area, and now I’m back. I’m settled here, and it’s so good to be home.”

Sadiq is passionate about the care he provides his patients, because he believes a great smile can be the first step toward happiness and confidence.

“I truly believe the dentistry we offer is life-changing,” he says. “One of the biggest things I try to communicate to people is that on a day-to-day basis, what my team and I provide can change someone’s life. People tell me, ‘I can’t go out to eat without worrying about my dentures’ or, ‘I have to cover my mouth when I laugh.’ Life is short. We want you eating, going out, smiling, laughing. I want my patients to be proud of their smile, and I won’t rest until I deliver that. Life is short – everyone deserves to live comfortably without ever having to think twice about their teeth.”
