New Jersey Named Happiest States to Live (Not that we’re surprised!)

The real reason why haters dump on the Garden State? They are obviously envious that New Jersey is such a great place to live. That’s not just our opinion. New Jersey is ranked the 5th happiest state in the nation in a new report drawing on “happiness research.” The study examined factors linked to a person’s overall well-being and satisfaction in life, including income growth, rates of unemployment and depression, and surveys of how productive adults feel about their lives.

Compiled by WalletHub, the report ranked New Jersey only behind Hawaii, Maryland, Minnesota and Utah. The unhappiest state? That’s West Virginia. New Jersey’s neighbors, New York and Pennsylvania? They ranked 23rd and 27th, respectively.
