South Jersey’s Christina Grimmie will be posthumously honored with the Humane Society of the United State’s Impact Award.

At the Society’s Farm Animal Protection gala next month, singer Rachel Platten will present the award to Grimmie’s family. It recognizes the singer/songwriter’s work to raise awareness of animal welfare issues.

After Grimmie’s untimely death last summer, the Humane Society founded the Christina Grimmie Animal Medical Fund to help pay veterinary costs for animals in need.
