With a unanimous vote by the Wildwood City Commissioners, an ordinance approving a Wildwood beach parking lot was passed on Monday.

The lot will be located at Baker Avenue and accessible by a tunnel under the boardwalk. Parking attendants will watch the lot, which will be made of pounded sand.

Only cars with four-wheel-drive will be allowed, and a daily pass will cost $10, with special event parking costing $20.

Ideally, officials hope the lot will open in the second week of July, but an official date has not been set.
