Atlantic City will receive a $550,000 grant from The New Jersey Department of Transportation’s “Transportation Alternatives Program.”

The funds will be used to connect the Atlantic City Boardwalk to Gardner’s Basin as well as provide LED lighting, benches and more for the extension.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Development’s Division of Coastal Engineering will also build a bulkhead to prevent flooding beyond the stretch.
