Cape May’s Congress Hall was recently named the best inn in New Jersey, according to “Travel and Leisure” readers. The 200-year-old inn was judged on categories like value, service, location, amenities and attention to detail in the annual readers’ survey.

Congress Hall originally opened in 1816 – when the American flag had only 15 stars and the country was a mere 40 years old. Since then, the Shore location has endured fires, storms, wars and economic disasters, and has hosted five presidents (not to mention lots and lots of South Jersey families).
